Mammoth Lakes: Mile 906

It was great to have Daniel and Marina "pass through" Mammoth lakes, where we rented a little cottage on one of the many eponymous lakes! We even followed them a few steps on the trail after they left Red's Meadow, and then found them again, very sensibly taking in the marvel that is the Devil's postpile monument (pictures in the next post, perhaps!)

Meantime here are a few pictures Daniel took from the edge of the desert (cacti below) up into the miraculously beautiful high Sierra. There are LOTS more pictures! -- it was hard to choose.

  1. That second picture is fantastic -- desert and snow? Nice.

And the last one, nudes are always good. :^)

  2. Hi! I came across your blog when I was searching through PCT hiker journals. Your photos are amazing and very inspiring. This is something I would love to accomplish in my lifetime. But for now, I am participating in a challenge called Capture California. A summer-long scavenger hunt that has me completing adventures all over California. One of my challenges is to interview a through-hiker. Could I ask how long you have been hiking and how far you have to go? Also, what's been the most challenging thing for you to date? Thanks, and I look forward to your reply! I will be following your blog the rest of your journey!!
